i am converting some animes that have hard-coded english subs to dvd. they are currently encoded in divx. i used vso convertxdvd which i usually use but the subtitles are getting cut off the bottom of the screen when converted to dvd. the source file is 640x480 23.97 fps, 4:3 1.333 ar. i downloaded favc after researching here on the forum and it does a better job of making the subtitles legible but is still cut off just a tad at the bottom. i have standard definition tv and using phillips dvp642 dvd player. i don't feel as a newbie on video conversions but getting stumped on this. i have converted other anime files and have not had these issues before. i encoded them using auto aspect ratio and 4:3 and still no avail. any help would greatly be appreciated.

Unfortunately, the subs have been put in the wrong place to being with. The only fix is to put black borders around the image to force it further inside the TV viewing area. FAVC attempts to do this using the Overscan tick box. If that isn't enough then you need to look at using FitCD to create a new avisynth script, and encoding by hand.

I've been using the FitCD method for a few years now. Works great.
I've never bet to gain anything.
Dying meaninglessly from the outcome of a gamble - It's better that way. That gets closer to the true essence of gambling.
I'll get closer to it's depths.
That's where the real pleasure in gambling is.
