    I just got a new computer with a 2.4 GHz P4 with XP Pro OS. Very fast when it was encoding using TMPGEnc (1.14 times real time) but it keep restarting itself in the middle of encoding. Any ideas why? Thanks for your help.

    One of my computers was doing this and it turned out being a defective motherboard. Even a new machine can have a defective board. Also, doing a clean install of Windows XP Pro without installing the manufacturers restore disks might help. Before replacing the board go to Microsoft and install the Windows XP SP1 update and see if it helps.

    That really depends on the voltage levels, or if the systems processor is overclocked. This is strange, considering this is a P4.
