I just got a movie from a friend (copied peer-to-peer) and wanted to burn it onto a CDR. It is however just over 700MB and it wont fit. I figured I could use VirtualDub to cut out some of the end credits to make it just below 700MB.

I've gone through all web pages with instructions on how to do this correctly and followed them thoroughly.

It cuts the movie at the right place and the new .avi is the right size and all, but the video freezes right at the beginning (the sound goes on normally).

If I "fast forward" to the middle and then play it, it takes it maybe 3-5 seconds to freeze again.

Would anyonew please help me out? Is there any other program out there that will do this for me (I'm using the latest build of VD-1 4d).

    Thanks,

    /B

I did that, I watched the whole movie a few days back, the original is OK. I just tested it again and it works.

When you cut out parts, you need to move to the nearest keyframe, dont just cut anywhere. So go to the start and mark it, then go to the place you want to cut, but move forward or backwards to the nearest keyframe, then mark it as the end.

If the cut was at the end, then you need to go back a keyframe for the start. If the cut is in the middle then you need to go back a keyfram for the start and foward to a keyframe for the end.
