    -----------------------------------------------

Now im goin to summerize what i want to do.

I wish to make svcds of me and my friends skate videos. We have recorded them onto a a jvc s-vhs-c camecorder. Its analog wish i could afford them fancy dv's but im 16 and my money goes elsewhere. What we want to do is be able to cut, edit join, do some simple effects and maybe put some writing layered on top of the video. Im only hopeing to make 20 or 30 min long somewhat decent quality svcds.

Now for the whole point of the post.

For me and my buddies needs what type of capture card and software could you recomend to somebody like me.

I have looked at the dazzle bridge didnt realy care for it. Also read about people haveing problems with the power.

If money's tight then go for a simple TV card such as the Hauppauge WinTV or the Pinnacle PCTV.

I think both the cards above come with basic video editing software.

  3. well im thinking of spending about 150 or below (keep in mind im 16 and work at a produce store). Id like to be able to capture at a decent resolution (this way when i put it to svcd it only losses some quality).

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What i want to do is make a widescreen picture and be able to put text under it. Since this is a skate video project being able to put music in it is a must.

Any TV Card with the BT878 chipset should be able to capture high resolution (up to 720x576) video on most setups.

Use the Capture Cards list on the left to compare the features and prices.
