Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I thinking of getting a Canopus ADVC-100 capture card. I've read a ton on it but I was curious how it would work hooking a VCR up to it. I have a ton of old VHS videos that I would like to convert to VCD. Can I hook a typical VCR up to the (external) capture card with simple RCA plugins? The tapes are about three hours each.
I've been reading up on this for a couple weeks on and off. At first I thought about getting an external VCD recorder to stick next to my television and VCR and so on. Then I read a ton of bad reviews. I've read nothing but good things about this particular capture card. But I don't know if I can use it or not. I know I'd have to fit these tapes onto about three different discs, which is fine. I just need to know how this thing can hook up to a VCR.
Thanks for any help!

Yes it hooks up to your VCR using standard RCA cables or S-Video cable. It hooks up to your PC via firewire, so if you don't have a firewire card you will need one.
