I've been completely flustered with creeping audio/video sync problems. Generally, the beginning of the video is in sync but after 10 minutes or so, sync problems set in. I've tried all manner of various combinations to correct this as suggested on this board but have gotten nowhere. SVCD or VCD, it doesn't matter - the same thing happens. I've got a Samsung N501 home player. However, I've noticed a couple of things recently..... If I pause the DVD Player after sync problems begin, rewind slightly and then hit play again, the sync problems disappear! However they quickly come back after a few more minutes of playing. Also, when watching the same disc on the DVD player that is on my PC there are no sync problems whatsoever! So I'm left wondering if the Samsung player is really the issue here. Has anybody run into something like this before? Thanks.

  2. at first instance, i toughed the you have the problem because you don't control for bad frames with VDub. but the things you sayd made me doubt it...

I think you DLL the movie in AVI format, you UNCOMPESSED the audio with VDub, there is't all OK

but, now you have to SCAN FOR BAD FRAMES... (under video menu, you'll see that)
Do that, it takes a while(30mins or sumtin, depending on your comp speed). when it's done, just hit SAVE AVI

ps: DO EVERYTHING LIKE U USED TO DO, SO DON'T GO TOUCHING ANYTHING ELSE...

    Good luck

I just scanned my AVI file in VDub. (Using "Scan Video Stream for Errors" under the video menu). It came back and said there was zero bad frames. If there's nothing bad about the AVI then aren't I back to thinking its a problem with the home DVD player???

Are you loading a VCD template in TMPGEnc ?, then click start don't change anything !.

You could also try another brand of CDR

  5. I had a Samsung that would do the same thing- it was the only one of my three players that had audio sync problems. I finally decided it was the player and returned it. I don't remember the model number.

    Yes - I always use a template.
Well, I think I've solved the problem. I just went down to Best Buy and brought a Sony DVD player. Presto - no sync problems!
I guess I'll just use my Samsung for DVD only and not bother with (S)VCD

Yep, a lot of the bargin players are not all that good, even if they start off well they do end up giving problems.

I have always used the Sony, so dont get any of the problems
