I have recorded separate sound at 44.1khz, and want to match it up with video shot simultaneously. The FCP project is DV Pal 48khz, so the audio is way off sync. I tried to convert it to 48khz in Quick Time but that hasnt solved the problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, much appreciated

With ffmepgx you can convert your video file.
But I don't know it works with "Final Cut made" films.

I found a different technique too from a mathematician friend.

He suggested i open the file in Audacity, change the speed by -8.84354%, then set sample rate to 48khz, and export as wav again. Magically when i put it into FCP it worked. Hurrah!
