  1. Hi,
I've been experiencing odd happenings with burning/playing vcd/svcd's.
When I've downloaded a movie and it's come with a cue file, I usualy just edit the path for the bin then burn it and things are fine.
But, when I get a film with no cue file then things start to go wrong-If I extract the mpeg (isobuster) and try and burn it in Nero (create vcd/svcd), it comes up with the usual 'standard compliance' error and then wont play on my dvd player. If I just make up a cue and put in:
    FILE "x.BIN" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00

Then it just shows how long (time wise) the disk is when I put it in my dvd player but wont play!
I found I had this problem again last night with signs, but then I found the original cues on the net for it, and it worked, the cues looked like this:

    FILE "Signs.2002.Screener.SVCD-EM.cd1.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 00 00:04:00
    INDEX 01 00:06:00

So then I pretend I don't have the cue- I extract the mpeg from the bin with isobuster, I then use vcdimager to create me another bin/cue, the bin is virtualy the same size as the original and the cue looks like this:

    FILE "signs.cd1.test.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:06:00

I try to burn this (on an identical cd) and nero throws up:
'Disc analysis failed, the error log contains more information about the reason'
The error log doesn't contain anything apart from babble about 'writing compilation in TAO with this recorder'.
Now am I going mad?? It looks like the only thing different is the 'INDEX 00 00:04:00' in the original one, and surely that wouldn't wreck it??
If I can't have the original cue's then it seems I'm buggered, I thought this vcdimager would do the business but I can't find a way of convincingly burning a bin if I don't have the orginal cue!!
Has anyone got a comprehinsive fool-proof way of doing this??

    Any help appreciated

    Mors

First off are you sure NERO is set to DAO since your error message is TAO. (s)VCD's should alwyas be written in DAO mode.
