I have usually been using ulead video studio 5.0, but lately when i try to capture a clip, whne I add it to the timeline it says the content of these files are unreadable. I tired virtualdub and no matter what codec I try the lipsync will get off after a few mins. Sometimes the huffy codec will loose sync for half a second, then the rest of the capture. I am using a (P.O.S) dazzle usb dvc2 80 capture device. So any help? I need to keep it from getting out of sync. Also when I capture to divx or any of the mpeg 4 v1,v2,v3 the capture will be choppy like they will move then stop then move again then stop. So can anyone offer some advice? I really need some help thanks

AVI_IO didn't work for me It has a problem recognizing my dazzle usb. It will recognize it when I first start the program and start a capture, but after it doesn't unless i restart my computer. It says it can't open it because it is in use by another tv application program (which it wasn't) So anyway I captured one clip and used the mpeg4v2 codec crisp was set for 90 and 3000kbps. I got three split files that wouldn't open. It was only a 30 sec capture. I finally got it to open up with avi_io but the face was doing wierd morphs and it was full of colors and pixels and was looking like an acid trip.so can anyone help me out at all? please respond thanks

ok I just tried to demux the audio from the video.run the video through virtualdub with the insert keyframe at 1 option or whatever, check no audio. Then I used the video from that for the TMPGEnc video and the audio I used the demuxed audio. Whne I converted it, it was still outta sync. IF anyone out there hasa Dazzle usb 80dvc2 and uses virtualdub to capture, please tell me the exact settings/options you are using to keep it in sync or how to fix it . thanks

ok the only way I can keep it in sync is if i leave most of the settings for virtualdub alone. Then under audio I selected direct stream copy, under video I selected full processing mode, then I used the huffy codec to encode.I left the frame rate settings alone they were at 15.000.The File is ok looks sorta not as all clear but still pretty good. I tried to encode it to a vcd with TMPGenc but i get an digitized echo noise. thanks
