I'm encoding my first 23.976 Frame-rate movie. I just want to know if the APEX 1500 can play (X)VCD's at a 23.976 Frame-rate without hicc-ups and 3:2 Pulldown, since this is a (X)VCD and not a SVCD were 3:2 Pulldown is required.

    It plays 23.976 VCDs fine.

Having a frame rate of 23.976 does not make a VCD and XVCD because
this frame rate is part of the VCD standard (whereas SVCD only has the 29.xxx frame rate in its standard)

  4. have you tried one though? i have, wasn't really satisfied. on my Apex 660 i would notice normal playback of the VCD for about a minute to 2 minutes then for 3 seconds it would speed up, then do the same thing over and over.

on my Apex 1500, it did the same thing but not as bad. still did it though. i have only tried one movie in VCD Film so i can not say the same for others. i wasn't happy with what i tried and never bothered to look into it more.

  6. No kidding, doesn't matter. You are still burning it as a VCD even if you are not using VCD specs. All comments still apply.
