  1. So far I've tried this on both an apex 1100w and a mintek 1600. Both skip a lot. You can get a file for testing, the star trek nemesis trailer, posted on alt.binaries.startrek a few days ago. Its basically a direct DVD rip, no scaling down at all. Tried burning it as a raw mpeg, and a non-compliant svcd, no dice. Kind wondered if the mintek 2110 might work better, but as of this weekend best buy has yanked from the shelves locally. They said they expect a replacement new model soon though. I Just want to know if this will work on ANY player at all, to see if its worth making a big deal over.

  2. I played this video on pc, and while it deals with it better, I don't think iff the CD it plays flawlessly either. In checking a cd drive would have to be more than 40x just to read this fast. Most of these players seem to skip about about 5000, which might mean they only read at 32x. I haven't been able to find any specs on these drives, but I'd be interested if anybody could clarify this.
