Hi
My TMPGEnc 2.58 plus will not open mpeg2 files. It is not a trial limit issue as I have the registered version.
I tried TMPGEnc 2.57 plus too and had the same issue. It just says the file is unsupported.
I have PowerDVD4 installed.
And some of the Nimo Codec Pack.
This has happened since a fresh install of XP Pro. And Service Pack1.
I'm not sure if this was happening after I installed SP1 on my last install.
Any ideas any help appreciated.

But it worked before and it is showing as using the powerDVD mpg2 codec in the enviromental settings.
Just not working now??
Why should I need to download an mpg2 codec when PowerDVD installs one????

Actually this seems to have happened since i changed my PowerDVD update file to a more recent one.

Hi
This is confirmed!!!!
I previously was using the "Isales.13296_Patch(enu).exe" to update my PowerDVD4. TMPGEnc uses the mpeg2 codec in its SVCD settings.
I recently changed to the newer update "Patch1811.exe" This does not work with TMPGEnc. If u try try to open an mpeg2 file after using this update you get the "unsupported file" error message.
BEWARE

Hi
I'm not sure.
Luckily I still had the old patch on an old CD.
So I uninstalled PowerDVD and reinstalled using the older patch.
Everything worked fine b4 anyway so I am happy going back.
It's 4.5mb if anyone wants it give me a shout.
