I know you save file as .wav when you get the
usual message:
Virtual Dub has detected an improper VBR...blah, blah, blah.
My question is: it seems to be the norm.
I have downloaded several .avi files and every
single one has the audio problem.
Have I been unlucky or is this THAT normal?
Just curious....

you are not unlucky. some people just encode with vbr audio instead of cbr audio to save space. i encode my divx with vbr audio if i have no intentions on reencoding. remember when you download that people are not making these movies in the plan to have someone reencode them.
