    Hello all.
I'm having a problem uncompressing a couple of dvds. I am using DVD Shrink to get the files off of disk. I am then running them through MPEG-Stream to fix any timecode errors as well as to convert the .vob files to .mpg. I then load the .mpg into VirtualDub to convert to .avi. After it parses through the file I get a list of warning messages.

MPEG: Anachronistic or discontinous timestamp found in video stream at byte position 448477608, from 64354162 to 64945750. This may indicate an improper join.
If I then save as an AVI, my resulting video is extremely jittery and jumping back and forth as it plays through. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or maybe another list of programs?

That's a fairly common error when dealing with MPEGs extracted from DVD. You might be better off ripping with DVDDecrypter and then using something like AutoGK to convert to AVI.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Hi,

I used an older version of VirtualDub (1.5.2), and it was very good but had problem handling x264 encoded videos. I"ve downloaded the latest (1.6.4) and it opens x264 videos but I also get that message ("Anachronistic or discontinous timestamp found..."). After I press OK, the video loads but cannot see any frame in the two panels there is only grey background. Since that time when I load a video into the new VD, no preview is available. How could I cut if I cannot see the video? The old VD works properly, so not a codec error is present. How can I make it work?
