TMPGEnc crashed or somethin when I tried to encode a DVD rip with Layer I, Dual Channel, 448kbps. so..... how do you get that sound quality?

something needs to be clarified first...
does "DVD rip with Layer I, Dual Channel, 448kbps" refer to the source audio you extracted with dvd2avi?
or does it refer to the audio you want your dvd rip to have (in other words, your output audio)?
keep in mind, the standard for SVCD audio is 224 kbit/s. -
the output settings from TMPGEnc. The input is 448 though. I think DVD2AVI said somethin like "DD 2.0 / 448". I wan tthe same audio quality as the input, basicly. (I'm not really conserned with SVCD standards)

well..if the input is 448 kbit/s, the it should've been like DD 3/2 or something similar...DD 2/0 is usually 192 kbit/s in dvd2avi
well, one thing to consider is that your standalone dvd player may not be able to handle that high audio bitrate....plus, i don't think anything above 224 kbit/s is gonna be that much better (just a waste of filesize) if you want 5.1 surround sound, there are help files on how to do that
