I prepared the PHILIPS SVCD style subtitle with SubRip and then used WinSubMux to mux these subtitles to the MPEG. Actually I used the same subtitle in 2 streams, one in CVD type and the other in SVCD type. EVerything went good. Used VCDEASY to create the bin/cue files. Used Nero to burn(Nero-->Burn Image-->VCDEASY Cue Sheet). Now all these steps went without any error.
But when played in my DVD player(APEX 1100W) the subtitle did not show up. Could anyone tell me what am I missing?
Thanks

According to the DVDplayers comments page on the 1100w it's hit or miss. There are at least 4 diffrent models ( 512/1m ) and ( with VCD support and without VCD support ).
Have you tried the test images availible on this site to see if they work? -
I did try the sample Subtitles and the CVD type worked. Also I have 1MB firmware upgraded. It is my sweet player which plays humbly what ever I throw at it
