Hey guys. I just ripped a DVD that has two sets of VOBs. It's got a VTS_01 and VTS_02. Here's a directory listing from the DVD:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB
VTS_01_6.VOB
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_0.VOB
VTS_02_1.VOB
This is a DVD-9 that I want to fit onto a DVDR. I don't want to rip anything, just downsample the movie until it will fit. Do I just load VTS_01_XX into DVD2AVI and then load the VTS_02_XX right after it? I want to make sure the menus, chapters, and extras remain in tact. Thanks guys!

the 01 and 02 are different title sets one would be the movie (probably 01) and the other would be "special features"... if you use smartripper you can rip the movie and cut out some of the crap as well. Quite a few movies will fit on a DVD-r this way.
If you want to keep everything, rip the movie and soundtrack to different files.. then re-encode the m2v file ( use ReMPEG2, TMPGEnc, CCE...whatever floats your boat) and re-mux the audio back in. Do the same for the 02 title set and you should be able to copy the lot back to a DVD-R without needing to re-author the DVD -
By the looks of it, that DVD can not be copied 1:1. Yes you will need to re-encode and re-author.
And no, that DVD does not have a weird file format.
