  4. Here's the link you need. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/Common/ArticleReviewsDetails/0,2651,92097,00.html

I use branded tdk since it is fairly cheap and very reliable, I have used about 200 with no problems. Verbatim and maxell are also very good but usually a little more $$. I have been using lead data media lately with great success. Out of 50 have had no issues at all, they are only 1x but cost about .85 cents each. I quit using princo media after too many bad discs.

  7. Never made a coaster with TDK DVD-R's

    Apple works also

Compusa had TDK on sale $2.99 each

I've heard the horror stories so I've stayed awya from generics.

Depends on where you are in the world as to what media is available. In the U.K. there are a few websites which allow you to pick a few of each of their generic media and branded discs. Apple are hard to come by.
TDK 1x are usually perfect and cheap at £1.20. White Label and Datasafe gen 2 need looking at before use. Check the bottom of the disc in daylight for flaws in the dye. blankdiscshop.co.uk will take back any unused media within 30 days. It also depends on what you are doing with the discs. To play on a standalone you have to try various media to see what works. A computer dvd rom is much more forgiving.

  13. I agree that TDK's are the way to go. You can buy them in bulk on eBay for about $1.90 each. I have been burning 4gig movies in 22 minutes without a hitch using the (internal A03). I also used the media identifier tool and they show as TDK even though TDK says they aren't. Who cares as long as they work. They don't work in my external usb A03 in any of my computers for some reason so I have to use other discs for that.
