I'm looking for a program that will add a timer to the movie that can start at 0 sec anytime in the movie that I choose. I also need to keep the movie in mpeg-2 format. Any suggestions?

Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250? It has software to time recordings and does MPEG2 in hardware. The capture card list has other possibilities.

Maybe I should have used the word timer as it might be unclear what i want. During my movie, I want to have a counter that appears in the movie that counts the time. I need to have the ability to insert this at anytime during the movie and end it at anytime. I hope this clarifies what I am looking searching for.
