    What would i need to have AVI playback on a standalon dvd ?
    u guys have any likes for stuff needed ?

    you have to convert it to dvd or vcd or svcd specs ... guides to that are on the left

    well thet wasent what i was thinking
    I want my standalon to be able to play AVI
    there has to be a way to chip it or reprogram the s/w so it will be able to do it

    Why would you want that ?
    because it saves you time ??
    No. It's not possible, all players are using the mpeg technology...
    You can use tons of nice authoring progs which will create nice menus and thingies.. and will convert it for you.

    But if you wait a while, some standalone Divx players have been spotted.. but they're expensive though
