I bought yself a nice HQ s-vhs cable.. TV-out black and white, tv in black and white....
I gues you could call black and wite high quality *cough*

Sounds like a bad cable, or not inserted all the way ( they can be fickle ).

check you didnt bend a pin also -- those things can be a royal pain trying to insert one in the dark behind a tv by feel ..

Is your video recorder or output device capable of producing a S-VHS signal? Is the device switched to S-VHS mode via scart using its on screen menu?

Sounds like you don't have a s-vhs video. This cable will only work with a s-vhs video / device. If your device is not this the cable will not magically create a s-vhs signal so your left with just using a standard composite.

I didn't kow it was a special signal, I just thought it was a replacement cable for the av, god damned, they don't put this on the box!
