i cant capture some movies from my vcr ?

i m capture real time with Virtualdub and it works great for some movies but on some it look fine while i am capturing but the play back seams to be playing behind a blue or pink green mask????? the sound works great and i can see that the movie is playing behind mask how do i get past this it is driving me crazy help!!!!

I think that this has something to do with copyright protection especially if you are trying to copy an original VHS movie. I found this to be a problem when trying to archive newer VHS tapes but not with my old stuff from the 80's.
