Hi,
I have been puzzled by this: my DVD player (connected to a receiver) plays movie dialogue in a much lower volume compare to other sound effects such as gun shots, very unbalanced to my ears. Is this normal?
I have tried a few tweaks (with both player and receiver), but no obvious improvment. Can that be due to a weak center speaker? but with VCD, everything seems to be just fine.
TIA,
-Oliver

The "low" volume is typical of DVD audio. Many DVD players have option for audio range compression in their setup menus. Look for that option it can help but not eliminate the problem.
