When i encode with tmpg i use the .d2v file (created with DVD2AVI) and the .wav file (created with headac3he from the .ac3 or using DVD2AVI to convert from the .ac3). In then use VCD Easy to add the chapters and have never had a problem. However, when I encoded the audio and video seperately I have a problem with VCDEasy. I use tmpg to create a .m1v file from the .d2v file and headac3he to create a .mp2 from the .ac3. I then mux them together using bbmpeg with the default settings but change the stream to mpeg1 because i'm using 2 pass VBR at 1700Kb/sec to create a decent quality movie on 2 CD's. When i put in the chapters using VCD Easy, the file size gets bigger. Am i doing something wrong? Should i just go back to my original method?
