1. I capture 720x540 25fps at a video datarate of 2520 kbps and Audio at "CD" Qulity. This gives a "disk" datarate of 5213K /s.
2. I then use TMPGEnc to convert to XVCD (352x288 at 25 fps video datarate 2520 kbps) This looks superb.

Does converting from 720x540 to 325x288 make a video look "smaller"? People look smaller and higher then in the original 720x540.
Or is this only so on PC and perfect on a TV?
I used VirtualDub to resise from 720x540 to 325x288 and also useed TMPGEnc to convert (VCD)

All you have to do is to increase the data rate of capture, this wont' make big blocks, in NTSC format the maxium compression is 3:1 which is a very good quality. I use VirtualDub to capture because the soft included with the card is some
bad, and then i edit with premiere 5 and export to MPG with the LinktoAvisyth using TMPEnc. it looks great in VCD and SVCD.

What kind of drivers do you use to capture AVI with Vdub and the DC10+ card? I thought this card was a non-avi card with no support for VFW or WDM.

What compression setting are you using? I think the DC10 goes up to a max of 3:1 compression or about 6MB/sec at 640x480.

Correct. Only a SCSI-rive can go higher.
Anyone tried if PicVideo's MJPEG work's with the DC10+?
Or any other codec besides it's own hardware MJPEG?
