Hi everyone,
First, please pardon if I don't use the VCD technical language correctly. I recently downloaded SVCD bin/cue files of a movie. There are 3 CDs, so 3 sets of bin/cue files. I used Nero 5.5 to burn the first bin/cue pair directly onto a 700 mg CD. When I tried playing this SVCD in my Panasonic CV52 DVD player, it skipped horribly. I then read on this website that SVCDs only play on my DVD player if "the MPEG2 file is multiplexed with a small decoder buffer size (like 80kb)."
Which program will allow me to do this? I know I can extract the MPEG2 file from the bin file using a program from VCDgear. I don't know what to do with this MPEG2 file from then to allow it to be burned in a way that my DVD player will play correctly.
If none of this works, does anyone know how to convert an MPEG2 file into a normal MPEG file to burn a standard VCD? I have done that before and it has worked.
Thanks for any help!

(1) Ignore the "transform svcd into vcd" statement
(2) Are you sure that your DVD player can play back CD-R or CD-RW discs well? Is it in the manual? Have you tried burning an audio CD onto the same media to see if it plays properly?
At the moment, it sounds like it is simply a media compatibility issue. If so, you can experiment with different brands of CD-R media to find one that works better. CD-RW often works better in these cases. A lower burn speed can help with the "compatibility" of your discs.
