23.976>29.9fps with pulldown - still judders?

Hi,

I've taken a film format 23.976 avi and converted to mpeg2 23.976 in tmpgenc, then applied PULLDOWN.EXE to it and authored it as a DVD.

It authored fine, but during playback it plays smooth for a few seconds then judders for a few seconds before going smooth again.

This repeats throughout the whole project.

Any ideas?

Could be a field order problem. You could change the fields to even if they are odd or vice versa. Pulldown.exe can do this for you. If you download the GUI for pulldown and pick options, you will see.

Give that a shot.
