    As i couldnīt find the answer to this basical question anywhere else:
    Is it possible to increase the quality of a standard SVCD by increasing the bitrate? And would this be an XSVCD? I feel really confused about that -
    does anyone feel like spreading some wisdom?

    Read the first half-dozen words after "Note!!!" at:

    Basically, anything not within the VCD/SVCD standards is an XVCD/XSVCD.
