  1. I have read posts that make me think I have a copy protect problem. I have found posts about defeating macrovision that are clearly aimed at forum members with more background knowledge than I have. I need info about solutions written for the uninitiated beginner. I have a HUGE collection of VHS tapes that I want to convert to DVD video format. These are all tapes that I paid full price for. I have moved and I no longer have room to store the copyrighted material in this VHS format. The tapes are temporarily stored in an un-airconditioned garage, and I
have visions of them turning to ashes. Realistically, I know they are
degrading rapidly. How do I convert them to DVD format? I have a Panasonic DMR-E30S Recordable DVD Player/Burner. When I try to record I get a message that I don't have permission to record these tapes . I asume the panasonic picks this up from info inbedded in the VHS tapes. I DO own the right to view these tapes, and that is about to be impossible. Can anybody help me, or direct me to a site that discusses this? I am reasonably proficient with computers, but new to DVD concepts.
    Thanks. Livy

  2. You need to get a picture enhancer box that would go between the connection. They go for $50+ but I currently have one that I was going to put on Ebay if you want it. Its works fine and I have no use for it anymore since I have a macro-free DVD player. I'll take $20 for it if you are interested. I take PAYPAL or money orders and you can check my SPOTLESS feedback on Ebay. Account name sgtd-optonline-net and you can email me at SgtD@optonline.net

    Hope to hear from you
