How much alcohol do you consume?

Just wondering.... How much alcohol do you get through in a week on average?

I have between 2 and 4 UK units a night on average, so normally only 28 UK units a week. The government say the average person should have 3 units a day at max. However, I argue that students are not average!

Anyone else?

Since my healthy eating drive (started 1st Nov and dropped 9lbs) I drink around two to three 200ml bud bottles.
Prior to Nov it might be about eight of the small bottles a week.

It's always amazed me how the current Brit generation is measured on the amount of drinks they consume in one night.

Not trying to be anything, just answering the question, seems that its not PC to say that you do drink these days. Nothing loutish about my behaviour even when extremely drunk, I just get very merry

In the circles I grew up in drinking was the norm, all my friends drink In fact I dont think I know a tee-totaller. I used to play darts and did play pool at county level, both pub based activities.

Pubs were much more lax round here when I was young, my friends and I were getting served in pubs when we were 15 or 16, probrably would'nt happen now , but you still see kids in pubs who definately don't look 18, particularly girls.

I think there are 2 types of drinkers those who get drunk and aggressive (these are responsible for the lager lout image) and those that get drunk start laughing a lot and eventually fall over. Thankfully I and most of my friends fall into the latter category.

Got nailed for DUI 10 years ago, said f'em, they won't get another crack at me. Cost somewhere between 15 and 1800 bucks, you're automatically guilty, raises too much money.

Everything we read over here says we're too lenient, if we were in Europe,our asses would be hauled straight off to jail and we'd have a hell of a time getting out.

I read somewhere that you guys are maybe #3 in beer conumption, per capita. Doesn't sound like the beer drinkers come here.

'Course, maybe the majority of the members are under age even for over there.

In my younger days Capt.Morgan and A&W was my favorite,a bottle a week plus margaritas,beer,etc.

I don't drink much these days,maybe 4 beers or glasses of wine a month.

I don't drink that much anymore, don't really see the point.

I prefer to have a fun night out instead of going out simply to drink and forget most of what happened then wake up in the morning feeling sick. Plus I can't afford to go drinking on what I make a week.

I drank a lot one fateful night, and wound up being a bit sick and having a bad time. Never again! Ever since, I only drink till I feel good (really good) and leave it at that. I remember a line in a red hot chilis song: "It's such a waste to be wasted in the first place".

I like Guinness as opposed to lager, but my major downfall is malt whisky. Favourites are Macallen, Talisker and Highland Park. Sadly, I can't afford to buy them more than once every few months just now but it's nice to have a bottle of really good stuff.

Unfortunately, the Union bar only has Bells and does crap Guinness. Oh well.....

If there's sport on then a few beers, 4 stellas for the football, but I no longer go out and watch sport in the pub anymore. Too expensive and too hard getting up on a monday with a hangover.

I would have a few beers and a bottle of Chardonnay and maybe some dry roasted peanuts or Pringles crisps on the average night in (when I don't need to go to work the next morning). Used to go on 12 hour binges every Friday but long since stopped that. Haven't been drunk in years, but am over the legal driving limit at least twice a week!

4-5 beers a week, unless I go out. Then a whopping 6-8! I'm not much of a drinker. One or two beers is enough to make me happy.

I usually drink a Miller Lite after work.
