  1. I have been using vcd galaxy pack to rip and make mpeg files. So far so good i have no problem making mpeg and mpeg2 files. however i am having trouble making viewable vcds that can be viewed on a standalone dvd player. I have tried to use NTI cd maker to make the mpeg file a vcd, but that program says its in improper format, next i tried to use nero to burn a vcd, Nero checks the file out and then burns it to the disc along with several other folders. It puts the movie in a folder called mpegav and changes the mpeg file name to avseq01.dat. However this disc will not play in normal dvd players. it will play in my apex dvd player but my player is unique in that you can look at a list of files on the disc, either mp3 or mpegs and play them. Am i using tmpegenc wrong? the mpegs i make play fine on my computer and on my apex dvd player, so i think i just have a buring problem. I;m so close to making my first vcd i can taste it. thanks for your help!

  2. I'm having the same exact problem. I've tried most everything except something I noticed today. Evey VCD that does work in my DVD player has its .DAT file named MUSIC01.DAT. I'm not sure why unless the DVD player is looking for that file name.

  3. a player looks for a .dat file no matter what the name...
music01.dat is a ezcd creator file & the aseq.. is almost every other authoring tool
ezcd uses exact only files 7 nero doesn't care what the bitrate is as long as the video is 352x240
check to make sure ur bitrate is 1.15mb/sec (1150 kb/sec) constant bitrate CBR
the apex player will play the file no matter what the bitrate
