I bought a JVC Svhs camcorder which has a Svhs and audio out lines, is it better to try to capture from the Camcorder or from the Svhs tape machine once the tapes have been dubbed over to Svhs tape for the Vhs tape machine? Also if the Camcorder is to be used will using the built in TBC help?
One last thing, when capturing from regular home vhs tapes I was going to capture at 640x480 and then go to 352x480 and burn to DVD, but with the Svhs tapes do I leave it at 640x480 and then burn to DVD?
Thanks much

With my JVC camcorder, I capture directly from the camera's SVHS output and audio out. Capturing logic says to capture at the highest resolution available if you have the disk space, and then tweak the results.
Now when you get your capture video, use TMPGEnc's templates to encode to DVD. If the captured video leaves much to be desired, use this Dazzle card guide, to capture and encode. It was written by a Dazzle card owner, but has a lot of good info.
