  1. Last night I left TmpGenc on to encode, and when I came back the next day, Tmpgenc had not encoded anything to the foutput file, although the progress bar at the top indicated that it was 17% done!
For that encode i used v2.53.
Just then I did another encode, this time with TmpGenc Plus v2.57 and whem i start encoding, the word 'analyzing' is in the centre of the black screen. Even when i close everything it still does the same thing.
By the way the file that im encoding is a SVCD mpg.

    thanks

  2. 'Analysing' means you have the SVCD encode set to TWO PASS (variable bitrate).

0% - 50% it analyses the movie (first pass)

51% - 100% it encodes the movie in the best possible way, using information from the first pass.

Encoding with 2 pass takes a long time.

One of my computers (which i use solely for encoding/converting video) took 17 hours to make a 52 minute SVCD using 2-pass VBR (and motion search precision set to HIGHEST QUALITY).
    - its a measly 700Mhz celeron with 64mb of ram....
