Hi,
currently I´m trying to convert Simpsons VHS-Tapes to VCD. For this purpose i´m capturing with a Pinnacle PVTV Pro and PicVideo MJPEG in 704x576 @ 25 fps. Then i perform a 2:1 reduction in VDub and frameserve to TMPGEnc. Is there any better way to improve the VCD-Quality? I managed to reduce the MPEG Blockiness in this way, so that blocks are not visible on TV but the image gets softer. When i use "sharpen" i get blocks and the image is worse.
So let me please know, what way is the best to convert VHS-Tape to VCD (PAL Standard, not XVCD).
Thanks.

Although this guide was written by a Dazzle Card user, I found a lot of the information extremely useful. He even mentions some good tips on capturing the Simpsons. Hope you find it useful as well.
