when i backup my dvd,s they will not work in most dvd players but they work in my dansi player can i get software which will let me backup me dvds to dvd-r and work on most stand alone players ?

No. You can only try to use pricier discs. TDK are compatible with lots of players.Usually the more expensive the better. Do not put labels on. they can cause wobble.

What would cause the better disks not to work in all players? I've been using TDK and Apple disks and am having problems with compatability and skipping. BUT, this is only when I backup a DVD using the guides and software found here. If I create a DVD from an AVI, (home movie using DVDIt) the disks work flawlessly in every player.
