Hi,
I have tested several things out but always had the follwing problem:
Any SVCD I've burnt (even the vcdhelp sample !!) had added black borders at top/bottom of my TV screen. The linux pinguin from the vcdhelp sample sitting on the world sits on my TV on an egg. Left and right border is OK, which shrinks the picture only in y-direction. With 16:9 input the obviously necessary borders get even thicker !
As I have said, I have tried several settings on SVCD creation, but as the vcdhelp sample does not work, I am quite confused what's going on.
Has anyone ever see a correct SVCD on an 4:3 TV (PAL) or are there more users out there with this Problem ?
My player is connected via SCART and S-Video signal (with RGB - which is much better - I get some brightness problems (changing luminance within a picture) on my TV). The TV is about two years old.
Could pls. anyone help me out of this problem ?
Thanks,
Joe

Any Tipps ?
I've heard of several people playing SVCD on their TV in correct format. Unfortunately, it does not work for me.
Thanks,

Hi,
this is just to give you my resolution for the problem:
1. I changes the player setting from 4:3 Letterbox to 16:9
2. I change my PAL TV automatic 16:9 back to 4:3
This shows a perfect SVCD picture on the TV
