  1. ..this seem not to work. I have PowerDVD XP, and whenever trying to open either the IFO or the VOB from the HD (ripped with smartripper) it shows up only green background & some funny squares, like a DVD would be damaged.

Is this my problem only or typical???

    Thx for your help!

  2. Did you place all the ripped files in a folder on your hard drive named "VIDEO_TS"...? I believe that is a requirement for playing raw VOB files through a software DVD program usually. You could use Sasami2k, but the audio would likely sound strange.

Try WinDVD in latest version. This worked without problems, playing vobs ripped with smartripper.

  4. Sounds to me like the VOB's are still encrypted. Did you try playing the DVD before ripping them ?

    Select "Open > Media Files"
Add all the Vob's to the list, click OK

If that is giving you problems, try loading one of the VOB's into TMPGEnc > Browse *.* > Vob 1 > Preview

Make sure Smartripper is set at demcrovision
