I just bought the Pioneer DVR7000 and love it! I was hoping to use the firewire in/out port on it to transfer video to my PC, edit it, then transfer it back to reburn on DVD. The DV out to my PC works great. However, I cannot get the unit's DV in to recognize the video out of my computer. I've tried DVIO, DVD Complete, and Ulead VS 6. I choose the option to export to DV. The software says the camcorder doesn't support Record and the DVR7000 says "No DV input." After talking with Pioneer, it sounds like they only officially support DV in/out with digital camcorders. So, evidently, a PC does not speak the same protocol as a camera on output, though the DV in spec must be similar.
I say all this to ask if someone knows of a utility that will emulate a digital video camera when sending DV out the firewire port. This way the 7000 would think it is connected to a camera. Something simple like DVIO would be great if it had an option like this. If I had a camcorder, I could just use it as a go between, but I don't.
Thanks.
