Hello,
I am trying to get a low-end system set up for a relative and could use some advice.
PC:
Pentium 233 MMX
64 Meg ram
2Gig hard drive
8Gig hard drive
ISA MJPEG capture card (Hauppauge Video Magic)
HP 9100 CDRW (8x4x32)
VHS camcorder
I know it is not much, I myself use a JVC DV cam, 1394 card and Pinnacle Express on an AthlonXP system, but they cannot afford that.
They only want something my nephew can play around on.
What video edit software should I load? I have Ulead Video Studio 4 and Media Studio 2.5. Are there better freeware titles I should use instead?
My nephew is not very computer literate (yet) so I would like to have this set-up before he takes the PC next month.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Russ

Those programs might be much use on that system, too slow.
Stick with TMPGEnc and Vdub, it will takes weeks to convert things on a Pentium 233
