Hi,

I have a weird problem and cannot seem to find the answer at Microsoft (who can?). I have a Pioneer DVDR104 connected in an ADS Firewire Drive box and it has been working quite happily for the past 2 months sitting as Drive I: on my system.

I came home today from work to find that I couldn't burn to it (Exception under Nero 5.5). When checking it, I found that there was a little red ? against the drive indicating that it is not working. So I switched it off and then back on and it suddenly appeared as drive J: (now shoing as a CD drive as opposed to a DVD-R drive as before). I can read from it no problem (tried a vcd disk) but when I try to burn I get this exception (its a Nero message and not a Windows one). The weird thing is that the I: drive is still there showing a red ?.

Two things I would like to know.

How the heck do I delete the I: drive (or reassign the drive letter for that matter)
Failing that - how do I get the DVDR to write again.

There does not seem to be any system utilities to check the writing (under device manager it states the drive is working normally).

Can anyone please help
Thanks in Advance
Adam
