An adapter for your computer's Line Out jack to RCA. An RCA cable to run from your adapter to your VCR's Audio In jack.
    Hello.

It is a small speaker jack. One side looks like the plug for your headphones to your walkman. The the other side is an RCA jack.

  6. Radio shack sells a 4 footer for about $10, Also Frys Electronics has them also for about $8.
It will work the other way also, audio from the VCR to your Imput on your sound card

  7. Ok, here goes. You either need one of these:

Which will go from your line out on your sound card, to the RCA audio jack on the stereo.

    Or you need a:

    and a:

In which case you put the first one in your sound card, and use the second one to connect the first one to the stereo.

*Sorry bout the crappy images, Radioshack.com wasn't cooperating so I just quickly spliced some images.

*I hope you don't want stereo quality sound because any that you buy come in mono, atleast that's all i've seen. I custom made my own from an old 2.5mm stereo jack and some old RCA cables to fit my needs.

  8. thanks for the help but i have this wire
do you think this is the same as the one you showed me, if so why is the sound so low when i connect it to the vcr, i hear alot of static and barely hear the sound

  9. That would have to do with the fact that it is a line out jack. Most line out jacks have a certain sound level that they put out and aren't changable like speker outs. Try moving the jack to speaker out, then playing with your volume controls.

  10. i tried putting it in the speaker out but only the left side has sound plus when i try to put the volume higher the video becomes unstable

  11. Hm, do you have an audio amp? You could try (if you have a stereo wired into your vcr with this) plugging the audio into the microphone jack on the stereo and do it that way.

It could also mean that the video only has one channel with audio. Load the video into Gold Wave and it will show you which channels have audio.

Make sure you use a STEREO cable, barrel sleve adn tip connection like on your headphones on one and and TWO rcs connectors on the other, not one !

If you use speacker out on your computer make sure the volume is low or the voltage of the audio signal will be too high and distort badly.
