    keep it avi if I only want to play it on my computer DVD as My DVD player is Sony and won't play VCDs anyway.

    How do I stop Nero converting?

    Sure. You either just burn the .avi file to your CD, and just play it on your computer from there.

    How do I do that? Do i tell it I want to burn a video cd? When I try that it just encodes it which takes ages but I dont want to convert it...

    So how do I do just what you said?

    don't select video cd. select the cd-rom option instead.

    Could someone please walk me through this as Im quite new....

    1. Im using the latest Nero.

    2. When I was trying to encode it before It said I needed space so I changed the cache to D:/

    3. I just did this Nero >>>close wizard>>>Cd Rom (boot)>>>>My Video.avi>>>Write Cd>>>12x (CDRW)

    Then it started and said "Caching error".

    So please could someone help me?

    With your CD-RW writer came a burning program. Mine is RecordNow. You will use that to put your video on CD-ROM disk. Nero is out of a job on this project, you already have what you need.

  7. you chose boot cd to make a data cd ? For the objective you're trying to reach nero can be sort of an overkill. Why not just use hp recordnow or something simpler than nero ?
