Hi, I want to put a capture card into my computer so that I can take my VHS collection, and convert them to dvd. I was thinking about purchasing the ATI Wonder VE card because of the price. Is my system set up for this? The specs of my computer are:
Pentium III-800MHz
128 MB of SDRAM
integrated Intel 3d graphics
20 gig HD-14 gig free
IDE CD-RW Drive.
Also with the size of free HD space, which codec should I download?
Thanks

hi there i also have the tv wonder ve and it is great. i would reccomend maybe upgrading your ram to atleast 256. as for your hard drive you may want to look into upgrading that aswell because 14 gigs will be sucked up fast capturing avi. you could always use mmc to capture into mpeg format directly saving tons of space but loosing quality. it took me a while to find the right program to use with the card. and while mmc works nicely with the card. aviio with huffy codec works very very nice. like i said that 14 gig will get used up quick though. i have a 30gig on one machine and a 40gig on another and sometimes can barely get by with that.
