    I am told that i get smaller file size if i use ac3 instead of pcm wav. so, my question is:

    What is the best (and cheepest) way to convert a wav to ac3

    or is there any better compression i can use on my dvdr's

    Use the "BeSweet" suite of GUI/program. You can convert your .WAV to .AC3 or .MPA. Both are about the same size for like files.
