I'm trying to convert a DVD that was made with PAL to NTSC and I've been following the guide on the digitalFAQ website: http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/video/convert-pal-ntsc.htm

Everything has gone fine up until the point where I am using Goldwave to convert the AC3 audio to WAV format so I can continue on with the process.

I have a tried several times but the resulting WAV file has no sound (even though the size of the WAV file shows that it has information and is relatively large in Bytes/size).

It seems like there is a codec missing or something but I don't know what's wrong. I can play the AC3 files with VLC media player so I know those files are good. But even if I play the WAV file with VLC it has no sound.

    What am I doing wrong??

Thanks for the quick response Baldrick I guess I should've mentioned that.

The answer is no. I do not hear the audio in Goldwave. I do not see anything but a straight line so it seems like there is an issue right there but I don't know what it is.

Goldwave requires an external decoder for ac3....and ac3filter is just that.
