I have had great results converting DVD's to VCD's.
However, I've been trying to figure out some things.
I am using the listed method of conversion on this website, i.e. SmartRipper, then VOB2AVI, then TEMPgenc, then Nero to burn.
I have several questions, mostly to do with Nero's Menu Creation System.
I am using 5.5.3.5, registered version.
My questions are as follows:
1. As the name of this POST implies, I do not know what the purpose of the PICTURES Folder is. I have tried burning *.bmp files to this folder, without much success as Nero says CD was created successfully, but when I examine this folder after the burn, it's empty in both the compilation and on the cd itself.
2. Also, on the Menu Creation tab in Nero, it shows "Links Text" but I never seem to "Need" this feature. I was wondering what "Links" I could put in there.
I'd greatly appreciate any help or answers to my questions. Thanks!

Taken from the Nero help file
1.)When burning a [S]VCD with still images, it is possible to store the picture in their original form on the recorded CD. To do this, enable the "Store source pictures in" option from the "Video CD" property page of the "Compilation Info".
2.)As for links - I also haven't found out what this is meant to do. Even the help program doesn't help you here.
