Hi,

Does anybody know why I'm getting this error
message with cce 2x (any version, same error)?

* I right click the window and selected "Add"
* I selected the avi file (tried many different)
versions of avi files.
* then, when I click "Encode" button, it looks
like it's starting, but then just crashes out
this this message

CCTSP executed an invalid instruction in
module CCTSP.EXE at 016f:0047bf6f.
.
.

And, other times (depending on avi file), I will get
this message:
-------------------------------------
! ICDecompressBegin() failed: -2
[ ok ]
-------------------------------------
.
.
...but the app does not bail out and close.

Anybody knows that going on. I've searched the net
for various versions, and installed each one and tried
each one, but i still get the same two types of
error messages???

I'm trying to test CCE's encoding. I want to see if
I get those enoying jerky motion problems in my final
encodes and played back on my standalone dvd player.

Thanks all.

2. With CCE 2.50 you get errors trying to encode the audio if you have an AMD. I'm not sure if it's only with Durons or Athlons or both, but I had a problem caused by my AMD (Duron) and trying to encode the audio and video. You never mentioned whether or not you were encoding video and audio. Here's a thread on that.

Here's another thread that might help too:

gambit32, (or anybody)

Since I'm still here, I thought I'd just ask this other 2 questions:
1 - How do I merge the audio part with my video
2 - In CCE, is there a Source option, like in TMPGenc has, so I
can encode just some pats of the clips?

Ok, I can't seem to figure out the audio part. i must be doing
something wrong. And, steps included in the guide(s) i have read
so far just don't seem to work. Any sugestions on a better and
shorter method, without all the other apps, just to get the video
and audio merged together as one? would appreciate it!

Oh, if there isn't a way to encode at a certain point in cce, know
of any other way of doing this?

Thanks.

gammio,

Actually, it was funny, as I was posting (see above post)
your's came through.

Anyway, I have several versions, some I've download
months ago, and thought I deleted them... but I didn't!
anyway, I have 2.50+ and 2.62 (I think it's a trial though).
Maybe I should install the 2.62 back again (suggestions)

* should I un-install and then re-install, or just re-install
on top?

Anyway, to answer your question, I just [] unchecked the audio
field and I was on my way. I did experiemt before I went
your route thought. But those exper. didn't work.

Anyway, the test avi was actually a rip of Aliens (small sect.)
and I tried the "Save as AVI", and use huffy, just to see the results.
And, they were'nt good.
* Quality was excellent...but,
* Venision blinds everywhere
* I think it was in 720x480 final output (no sound)
oh, another question, I didn't see any settings for changing
the frame rate, 352x240, 352,480, 480x480, etc. Know where
it is? I want to try various encode at various resolutions in CCE.

Ok, another question:
If I have an avi, with video and audio in it, and since I can't get
cce to work less I uncheck the audio, how do I make final mpg file
with the video and audio from my avi's?
* I'll be doing some testing of quality that CCE produces with my
dc10+ capture card as well as some more dvd rips, once I figure
things out.

Thanks.

This is called multiplexing. Use TMPG> file> mpeg tools.

v.2.62 has the disadvantage, that you can not frameserve with Virtual Dub or Avisynth to CCE. Otherwise 2.62 has not the audio limitation of 2.50.

always uninstall before installing a new cce version

"video" buttom: if your source is 720x480
half horizontal means 352x480
half vertical means 720x240
both half means 352x240
You may use Virtual Dub or Avisynth for resize and frameserve, so you can use 480x480 or any other resolution as well.

Use TMPG or better tooLAME for audio encoding and multiplex with TMPG or bbMPEG

btw, http://www.doom9.org has a great CCE guide.
Even more usefull is the cce manual, that came with the encoder.

Truman,

Thanks for your response.

Ok, Now I'm having problems again. I decided to try one of
my dc10+ capture avi files and I'm now getting this repeated
error message again, but it doesn't crash....

------------------------------------------
ICDecompressBegin() failed: -2
[ ok ]
------------------------------------------

What's going on here?

* Audio is unchecked
* I made no changes to any settings
* I haven't even tried the "frame search" feature

Some more questoins:
* What's (explain): (X) ES ( ) PS
* currently, the default quality settings for
"Image quality priority: 25, and Anti noice filter is: 6
Are these the best settings, or average setttings?

Well, I'm gonna try a little experiment. I'll load up Studio and
do a "Make movie" and save as huffy. If it works, then it's
because cce doesn't like the direct avi files it makes on the fly
before it encodes to final avi via other codecs.
I'll let you's know what my findings are, case others are having
this same problem (and, maybe given up on).

See ya real soon!

cce doesn't convert Type-1 DV AVI files. Maybe that matches your problem, otherwise I don't know.
To the other questions. I guess, you just started with CCE. I HIGHLY recomment to read the manual. This is really well written and helps much.

Truman,

Thanks.

Ok, it's not a "Tpye-1 DV" ?? avi file.

I have the DC10+, it's not a dv kits or anthing. Sorry for not
being clear on this card. Anyway, ...on with my results per
my last post - you to Truman... K?

It turn out that my assumptions were correct!!
IT LOVED HUFFY TO DEATH!!
anyway, Truman, since you knew the format of this DV type,
do you know what format for direct stream avi file are from
the DC10+??. I know that on versoin 12 of TMPGEnc will read
this direct stream avi's from dc10+, but the other versions,
12a through 12i don't get processed properly - they turn out as
blank screens, and my solutions (to you all with this blank
screen problem) is to use version TMPGEnc 12.
-----------------------------

Ok, Since more than an hour has past since I was posting this message
above and I can't remember what i was going to say, and I forgot to
finish this post. . . i forgot to press Submit button.
I'm exhausted!! I've ben reading the guide and (in .pdf format) and
have visited many sites on bbMPEG, TMPGEnc and CCE, and
I STILL CAN'T GET THE DAMN THING TO BURN AS SVCD OR VCD!!!
in nero 5.0.4.4, aftre draging the file into the window, when i look at
the "Duration" column, or field, it's blank. And, because of this, I know
that nero will not burn properly - based on experience, my final output
will not play on my dvd player. I've tried sooo many times with different
ways muxing, demuxing and whatever else there is, and I still can't
get a proper burn!!

Somebody just tell me what the hell am I doing wrong or am missing
(steps, or what-have yous). Please.

Ok, ...in short, I'm about to trash CCE and continue with TMPGEnc.
becuase CCE is, IMO half ass! That is, it has all these feature, but
it will not burn properly. And, I'm not interested in trying another
burner. Just nero - thanks. Anyway, just imagine that if I were to
of bought this app, Id be PRETTY MADDDDDD!!!! I guess you can
tell I'm pretty MADDDDDD!!! right now. I can't even type streight.
I've ben at this thing all day, since 9:15am, and it's now 10:19pm
and I CANT GET A PROPER BURN!!!!!!!!! ARGGGG!!!!

Well, since I'll never find the answer (guide included) to a proper
burn with nero, (it's a complete waist of my time today), I'm gonna
call it quits! I can't do experiments like this! ...when they don't
work anyways!
(please people, no more guide suggestions - they don't work! And,
I have an eye infection, and it hurts, and stings and. . . .#$#!#%#)

Ok, Thank you fine people for all the help you've provided. It has
ben really appreciated!

Well, it's not too late, I have another 3 or 4 more hours to burn.
"...now, where'd i put the TMPGEnc 12 at???"

Oh, one more thing, 4 I go, I did mange to find a storage site - not
by much MBs, but it's a start.
Thanks to Sefy! Though he didn't give it to me as a suggestion, boo hoo,
I did a search via Googles and found it. Oh, the St site he was using was
"Yahoo Breifcase". I signed up for my 15mb, and found that I was marked
with 30mb instead. So, I'm not complaining. I'll have to give it a try and
post a clip and see how it goes. Thanks again, Sefy, thought indirectly!

... Thanks all!!!!!...

PS, sorry for the long post.
PS, ...I forgot what I was gonna say - sorry!
