  1. I am new at this and I need some help. I just got my burner this week and I want to burn some SVCDs. I've downloading a lot of SVCDs off the net for the past little while. I would always extract them from the SVCD format & just save the mpeg file on my hard drive. But I want to burn them back on to cds since I have a burner now. However, the copies I burned didn't work for some reason. The one I've got working looks terrible in picture quality. Its a lot darker then the original and seems rougher. I am using Nero 5.5.9.0 and using the svcd burn option burning at 24x with 40x liteon burner & 32x qualified cdrs.

Every cds I've made so far would cause my cdrom to lock up when I try to play the file off my cdrom. It is constantly trying to read from the cd, almost like when you have a very badly scratched cd in your drive. I didn't get any errors in nero saying about invalid video format or anything so I don't know what could be wrong.

  2. Do you see any picture at all. Try lowering the speed youre writintg at. If the movie looks like crap chances are when you burn it and play on you dvd its gonna look like crap there also.

  3. I can see the picture on some of them (in svcd format), but its gonna extremely slow, almost like frame by frame. I don't understand why, burner can play cds at 48x so it should be fast enough.

  4. reading cd problem...

you may have a dirty drive... try reading from the recorder instead of the cd/dvd drive... if it doesn;t make a difference.. burn at 8 speed or so, or use a different brand of disks.

is your computer fast enough for realtime MPEGII decoding ?>

    greetz.
