I received Nero 6 OEM with a DVD Burner, worked fine at first. Yesterday, had problems burning a DVD -- VisionExpress wouldn't even come up with the DVD menu. After much reading, I finally broke down and bought the DVD-plug in. I was then able to access the DVD menu -- great.
Then it said that the MPEG-4 was no longer available due to patent restrictions. I was still able to add my video files and they looked fine. But the video wasn't right when I tried to add chapters or play it at the end.
After much more reading, I've gathered that the DVD plug-in does not address the MPEG-4 issue. (Yes, I'm very new and green with these things!). So in order to get the MPEG-4, it looks like I'd have to upgrade to another version. But I would never have bought the plug-in if I knew Nero 6 didn't even support MPEG-4 anymore.
So do I have this all right? Am I missing something? What options do I have now? It sure doesn't seem right to advertise the software with the burner and then not even really be able to use it.
Thank you for any help you can give!
