I am probably going to buy a DVD ROM tomorrow for $50 this is just so I can rip DVD's, so far my standalone DVD player only plays VCD's how good is VCD quality if it is from a ripped DVD, what I need to know is is it worth buying a ROM for??? Try to give me some standards of comparison, like will the quality at least be = to a VHS or standard TV quality???

I would say better vcr and almost dvd quality.
That is a good quality rip. If the guy who rips it doesn't lower the quality too much the quality is exceptional.
I would say your good to go on the buying the dvd.
